Curiosity has shaped every step of my career. From industrial design and UX to full-stack software development, I've always been driven by a desire to understand how things work and how they can work better. Today, I bring those experiences together to design digital experiences that are intuitive, accessible, and meaningful.

My story

I've always been curious about how things work.

Growing up in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, I dreamed of becoming a toy designer. That passion for creating things led me to study Industrial Design at Iowa State University, but it wasn't long before I discovered a new interest: designing digital experiences.

What began as a web design internship at Uline evolved into a career spanning UX, content management, and eventually software development. Wanting to better understand how digital products are built, I taught myself software development and eventually transitioned into a Full-Stack Developer role. Along the way, I realized that understanding both design and technology allowed me to solve problems more effectively and collaborate more closely with the people building the solutions.

Today, I combine those experiences in my role as a Digital Experience Manager at Fortune Brands Innovations, helping create digital experiences that work for users, businesses, and the teams who bring them to life.

Outside of work

When I'm not designing, you'll usually find me spending time with my wife, chasing after our dog Boo, or learning something new.

I'm also an avid guitarist and run my YouTube channel where I share lo-fi guitar covers of some of my favorite songs. Besides that, I'm also ~slowly~ learning spanish, one Magic Treehouse book at a time! And if I'm not doing either of those two things, I'm probably watching something from the MCU.
